Postponed Games Due To Inclement Weather

The last two weeks have seen the Raynes Park Little League called off. The recent weather has led to frozen and waterlogged pitches (see pic below) with weeks (14.01.17 and 21.01.17) being affected. The league will try whenever possible to get the games played but the most important factor is the safety of the kids.

Each week the league committee inspect the park to make sure the pitches are in a safe and playable condition. Once again the league will be looking at the pitches this week to make sure the games can go ahead.

If you have any questions please get in touch with your child’s manager to see if the games are on or alternatively, you can contact a league official (details on the website).

Sabres Win Senior League First Half

Sabres secure top spot after consistent performances

The Sabres finished top of the pile after the first half of the senior league season. A string of consistent performances saw them clear at the top from their nearest rivals the Forwards, Arrows and Dynamos.

The league would like to congratulate all those involved in their success and we look forward to a very exciting and competitive second half of the season with much still to play for.

Dynamos Win One Day Cup

Dynamos 3 v 0 Arrows

The sun was shinning the grass had been cut, the new senior goals were out for all to see, the scene was set for the 2016 Senior One Day cup.
raynes
The competition was set out into two groups of three with the winners of each group competing in the final for the covered trophy. All games were fiercely competed with all six senior teams well represented but after a long morning of football the Arrows emerged winners of group A and the Dynamos were winners of group B after a scintillating group decider against the Sabres.
raynes
The final kept the theme of the morning with some great football being played but the turning point came mid way through the first half when the Arrows looked sure to take the lead but the ball came back off the crossbar breaking to the Dynamos who went up the other end and took the lead against the run of play. But from that moment on there was only going to be one winner with the Dynamos adding another two to win 3 – 0.
raynes
Huge congratulations to all teams who took part especially the Dynamos managed by Barry Palmer who has doubted his own ability recently and questioned the long standing partnership with Richard Oliver who I understand was in contact throughout the morning via video link. This reinstates the duo as the most successful partnership the senior league has ever seen and a great example to all new managers that with the right commitment and positive attitude you can achieve great things.
raynes
Finally a big thank you to Sam Lampton the Senior secretary for organising a great competition and arranging the weather.
Well done all!!
