Juniors Win Frank Adley Trophy

IMG_3780

The Pride of  The RPLL
In what was a fantastic day down at the Raynes Park Little League, the inaugural Frank Adley Trophy was played out with teams comprising of a Bantam, Junior, Senior and Parents side. Money was raised by those taking part – which goes back into the RPLL coffers – as all sides took to the task of winning the coveted trophy very seriously – well, almost everyone. After the round robin games were played – the Junior and Senior sides were tied at the top meaning a penalty shootout was the decider. As the goals reigned in it was the Juniors that took first prize thanks to a deciding spot kick by Leo Pallazzo and the trophy was lifted aloft by their manager Peter Brown amongst exhausted celebrations…

Games Called Off

Due to the adverse weather conditions this morning, this weekends Bantam fixtures have been cancelled. The league and Bantam League Secretary Paul Saxby felt, with the best interests of the young kids, that the weather was not good enough for the kids to play football.

Fingers crossed the weather will start to improve soon so the kids can play their football in the sunshine once more.

Rearranged Fixtures Next Week

An extra week of matches have been penciled in for the 15.12.2012 in response to the League losing three consecutive weeks due to poor weather. The Managers vs Parents match originally scheduled for this day has been moved back to the 22nd of December.

Ken & Paul repair Pitch

With the cancellation of matches again this weekend the league Committee have decided to try and recoup a week with the league matches extended to the 15.12.2012. Many managers today spent time at the park re soiling parts of our 6 pitches that were boggy and saturated with water. Along with sand bags the pitches are now in a better condition and the hope is now the next two weeks of football, weather provided, should go ahead…
